History

The breakdance was born in the ghettos of America in the early 1980s (Bronx and Brooklyn). African Americans created a dance as a means of expression gathering dances already created, such as the Charleston, bachata, salsa; and also certain martial arts such as capoeira and gymnastics depotiva movements.
Contrary to popular belief, the breakdance is not danced together with the Popping and Locking. These three dances (known as Funkstyles) danced separately and by rule general and especially now, with music of different style. The belief that mixing steps of a style of dance and other dance is derived from the films that led the dance from United States to Europe. Which, to give greater commercialism to his films, joined the three dances in one in the choreographies of the celluloid.
